Set Up Utilities and Services Ahead of Time

Before moving day, be sure to contact local utility providers for electricity, internet, and renter’s insurance. Having everything scheduled in advance means you can move in without worrying about being without power or Wi-Fi. Not sure which providers are best? Contact our team and we're happy to help!

Plan Your Furniture Layout

Measure your new apartment’s rooms so you know what will fit. Think about versatile pieces—like storage ottomans or modular shelving—that maximize space while keeping your home stylish.

Pack Smart and Label Clearly

Use sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, and markers to organize your belongings. Label each box by room (“Kitchen,” “Living Room,” “Bedroom”) so unpacking is easier and faster once you’re in your new home. If something needs to be unboxed right away because it has essentials like work from home equipment or pots and pans, label it with a special color or large star. As you pack up your car or moving truck, make sure those important boxes are easy to access. Once you move in, sort your boxes by room and unbox priority ones first.

Pack an Essentials Bag

Aside from marking your important boxes, pack a small bag or suitcase with must-haves like toiletries, bedding, chargers, and a few kitchen basics. That way, you won’t have to dig through boxes your first night at The Grounds. Moving days are often long, exhausting and a little stressful so do what you can to make your first night at home an easy one.
